I find it interesting that the story is narrated by the robot and he's so very articulate. It reminds me a little of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Contrary to the old movies' representations of Frankenstein's monster, the monster in the book is a creation that learns quickly and becomes almost more human than Dr. Frankenstein himself.

Thanks both for the compliments. Brenda, a polluted world yes, and a world which no longer believes in "God."

I like this classic sci-fi theme that is combined with New Age spirituality. It makes an interesting point of view for your robot character.

Is all the desolation the result of war, or pollution? I'm curious about the setting.

An interesting story of hope in a future poisoned world. I like the robot character as an evolved machine, part human, but still dependent on a human master? for emotion.

Check your first quote, it begins with " but the endquote is '.
