The mood around the bases was buoyant after the victorious battle over the Korons.  There was much drinking and partying.  But it was also a period of recovery.

Battle Carriers and other warships lay anchored in Space Docks for repairs.  Replacement fighters, bombers and equipment were, in the meantime, being listed for requisition.

Military ports became a hive of activity.  Men and machine moved in chaotic harmony.

High in the Martian orbit, Battle Carriers started receiving their additional complements of fighter and bomber squadrons.  Cruisers and Destroyers took in supplies while testing their turrets and guns.  Ground crew had never been so busy.
